# Gallop

Pedagogical gallop only — original seeds. Short–short–long (or reverse) metal drive cells.

## The feel

8th + two 16ths per beat (`dah da-da`). Clap first. Straight vs slight swing.

## Hand mapping

Map `i m i` (or similar) onto the cell for a week. Left hand holds steady — no pumping.

## Seeds

Open-E cells; fretted A + open-E answers; reverse cell. Root–fifth power shapes.

## Open-string drones

Intentional E drone under fretted shapes vs fully muted — practice both.

## Stamina

90s on / 30s off. Lower BPM if the last seconds collapse.

## Common faults

Uneven shorts, same-finger cheat, left-hand pump, rushing, accidental wash.

## Practice ladder

Clap → open E → fretted → drone switch → root–fifth → BPM steps.

## Tone

Bright edge + controlled mids; record for evenness; bridge-ward pluck for clarity.

## What good sounds like

Identical cells, heavy longs, twin shorts, glued to the kick.

## Ethics

Feel and stamina here; licensed sources for repertoire.

## Cell variants
Stepwise roots; sparse cells on 1 and 3 only.

## Kick lock
Air-pluck with a loop before unmuting.
