# Learn Basuri — Listen (note detector)

Hold a steady tone on your basuri. The [listen.html](listen.html) page uses your microphone
to show **frequency (Hz)**, Western pitch, and the **swara relative to your Sa**
(practice bar).

## How to use

1. Set Sa on the practice bar to your three-hole Sa — or play Sa and press **Use heard pitch as Sa**.
2. Enable the microphone (browser permission required).
3. Hold one note 2–3 seconds. Read Hz, swara label (`S`, `R`, `P`, `S'`, `,P`, …), and cents offset.

## Tips

- Quiet room; mic toward the embouchure.
- Steady tone — not meend while reading.
- Air noise alone will not lock.
- Equal-tempered steps from Sa (practice guide; raga shruti may differ).
- Headphones for drone if the mic hears it.

Pitch analysis runs entirely in the browser (YIN-style). No audio is uploaded.
