# Scales lab

Interactive page: [`scales-lab.html`](scales-lab.html). The patterns are on [Major scale](major-scale.md) and [Minor scale](minor-scale.md).

Pick a **root**, **major** or **natural minor**, and **Both hands / Right / Left**, then press
**Play the scale**. Finger numbers sit on the keys. In *Both hands* the left hand is the low
octave (blue) and the right hand the high octave (gold), with one empty octave between them.
Playback is one note per beat at the metronome's tempo.

To have the app listen to a real keyboard, use [Training routines](routines.html).
