4-Week Starter Plan
A realistic ramp for ~15–20 minutes a day. Cleanliness > speed, always.
| Week | Focus | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tone & the five bols. Level 0 drills daily; add Ghin/Taang alternation from day 3. Hear bols on Basics. | Pass the self-check. |
| 2 | First beats. Learn Samala, then Maruni; add the Ghin-Ghin-Taang roll. | Play Samala for 2 min straight at ~80 BPM; try Maruni once. |
| 3 | The folk feel. Sangini, Jhyaure, then Kaharba; use the song strips to play along. | Switch between Samala, Jhyaure & Kaharba on demand. |
| 4 | Consolidate + odd meters. Level 3 / coordination, add Dadra, try Rupak (then Jhaptaal). | Hold any beat steady while speeding up; attempt one full Rupak cycle. |
Beyond week 4: learn songs (not just beats), record yourself
weekly to hear progress, explore Jhaptaal & regional variations, and
consider a few lessons with a teacher to fix habits early.
