Lesson 21: Two Women, Two Books

Index · Lesson 20: The Dual · Lesson 22: Joining Words

Lesson 20 was two men. The number is still द्विवचन. Two women, as a subject, are छात्रे. Two books are पुस्तके. द्वे means “two” for women and for things. The other jobs match the two men: “with,” “for,” and “from” still end in आभ्याम्, and “of” and “in” still end in योः.

ते is “those two” for women, and also for things. The same spelling, in Lesson 3, is more than two men. More than two women is ताः. The verb shows which sentence you have. पठतः is two. पठन्ति is more than two.

Two women you call तपाईं are भवत्यौ. The verb is पठतः.
