Lesson 98: One Paragraph
Index · Lesson 97: A Letter · Lesson 99: What the Endings Do
Read this as one paragraph. Every ending in it has a lesson.
| Sentence | Meaning |
|---|---|
| The student who studies every day knows.
| Having bathed, he eats rice. |
| There the teacher has him read the book. |
| When the sun has set, he comes home. गृहम् keeps म् because आगच्छति starts with a vowel. |
Practice
- Read the paragraph aloud, without the table.
- Point to प्रतिदिनम्, the absolutive, the causative, and the locative absolute.
- Say the paragraph again with छात्रा and सा. यः becomes या. तं becomes ताम्, written तां before a consonant: गुरुः तां पुस्तकं पाठयति।
