श्रीआदिनाथाय नमोऽस्तु तस्मै येनोपदिष्टा हठयोगविद्या ।

The line
Salutation to that glorious Ādinātha (आदिनाथ). By him the knowledge of haṭha (हठ) yoga was taught. It shines like a stairway for one who wants to climb to the height of rāja (राज) yoga.

Where it sits
The book puts haṭha (हठ) under rāja yoga (राज योग). Yoga Sūtra (सूत्र) 1.2 defines yoga as the stilling of the mind's activities. This verse calls that height rāja-yoga (राज-योग) and calls haṭha (हठ) the stair.
