Lesson 12: He, She, and That
Index · Lesson 11: We and You All · Lesson 13: Those
सः, सा, and तत् have been the subject words “he,” “she,” and “that.” This lesson is the other jobs, one person or one thing. More than one is the next lesson.
One
| Case | He | She | That |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subject | सः | सा | तत् |
| Object | तम् | ताम् | तत् |
| With, by | तेन | तया | तेन |
| For | तस्मै | तस्यै | तस्मै |
| From | तस्मात् | तस्याः | तस्मात् |
| Of | तस्य | तस्याः | तस्य |
| In, at | तस्मिन् | तस्याम् | तस्मिन् |
For a woman, “from her” and “of her” are both तस्याः. For a thing, the subject and the object are both तत्. That is the same pattern as छात्रायाः in Lesson 4, and as पुस्तकम् in Lesson 5.
