अन्यः means “another,” or “the other one.” It follows सर्वः, including अन्यस्मै, अन्यस्मात्, and अन्यस्मिन्. A woman is अन्या. A thing is अन्यत्, not अन्यम्. The subject of more than two men is अन्ये.

| अन्यः छात्रः पठति। | Another student studies. अर्को विद्यार्थी पढ्छ। |
| अहम् अन्यत् पुस्तकं पश्यामि। | I see another book. A thing is अन्यत्, not अन्यम्. अन्यम् would be a man. |
| अन्या छात्रा आगच्छति। | Another woman student comes. |
| अन्यस्मिन् दिने अहं गच्छामि। | I go on another day. दिनम् means “day,” and दिने is its in-form, like छात्रे. |
Use अहम् अन्यत् पुस्तकं पश्यामि for the book. अन्यम् would be a man.
