Lesson 57: All
Index · Lesson 56: The One Who · Lesson 58: Another
सर्वः means “all,” or “every,” of a man. It matches the noun, with one difference from छात्रः. For, from, and in use स्मै, स्मात्, and स्मिन्, as एक does in Lesson 31: Numbers in Every Case. They are not सर्वाय, सर्वात्, and सर्वे.
A woman is सर्वा, and her for-form is सर्वस्यै, her of-form and from-form सर्वस्याः, her in-form सर्वस्याम्. A thing is सर्वम्.
More than two men, as the subject, are सर्वे, not सर्वाः. The things are सर्वाणि.
