The line

In the sky made dappled by the brightness of the sun, a lamp, and the rest, the gaze is to be placed there itself. The form of one's own self shines.

नेपालीमा

सूर्य, दियो आदिको तेजले छिर्के बनाइएको आकाशमा दृष्टि त्यहीँ राख्नु। आफ्नै स्वरूप चम्किन्छ।

Where it sits

The dappled sky is the verse's place. The page stays with the sentence. It does not give a way of looking at the sun.

Split: tejasā (तेजसा) + sūryadīpādeḥ (सूर्यदीपादेः) + ākāśe (आकाशे) + śabalīkṛte (शबलीकृते) + dṛṣṭiḥ (दृष्टिः) + niveśyā (निवेश्या) + tatra (तत्र) + eva (एव) + svātmarūpam (स्वात्मरूपम्) + prakāśate (प्रकाशते)

The phrases

In a sky made dappled by the brightness of the sun or a lamp, the gaze is to be placed there itself. The form of one's own self shines.

Sanskrit in this line

niveśyā (निवेश्या) is a gerundive agreeing with dṛṣṭiḥ (दृष्टिः). The gaze is the thing to be placed. The construction is impersonal: it is to be placed.

Say it back

Say what shines when the gaze is placed there.
