The phrases

For one who sees the distinction, the cultivating of a story of the self stops. darśinaḥ (दर्शिनः) is genitive of the person. nivṛttiḥ (निवृत्तिः) is the nominative. The compound is read from the end: a stopping, of the cultivating, of the sense, of a self.

Seeing the distinction is not another story about the self. It is the end of that cultivating.

Sanskrit in this line

Genitive of the person, darśinaḥ (दर्शिनः), from a stem in -in (इन्). The long compound is one nominative, nivṛttiḥ (निवृत्तिः). Read it from the end, slowly, or it becomes a blur of self-words.

Say it back

Read the compound from the end, aloud, until the stopping is the first thing you understand.
