Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā / 2.21 The six acts, when fat and phlegm are in excess

2.21

Haṭha (हठ) Yoga Pradīpikā (प्रदीपिका)

मेदश्लेष्माधिकः पूर्वं षट्कर्माणि समाचरेत् ।
अन्यस् तु नाचरेत् तानि दोषाणां समभावतः
medaśleṣmādhikaḥ pūrvaṃ ṣaṭkarmāṇi samācaret |
anyas tu nācaret tāni doṣāṇāṃ samabhāvataḥ

The line

One in whom fat and phlegm are in excess should first do the six acts. Another, when the doṣas (दोष) are in equal measure, should leave them undone.

नेपालीमा

जसमा बोसो र कफ बढी छन्, उसले पहिले छ कर्म गर्नुपर्छ। दोष समान मात्रामा हुँदा अर्कोले ती नगरिकन छोड्नुपर्छ।

Where it sits

The verse's own na (न) is on the second person. 2.37 records teachers who do not accept any act besides prāṇāyāma (प्राणायाम). Both sentences stay.

Split: meda (मेद) + śleṣmādhikaḥ (श्लेष्माधिकः) pūrvaṃ (पूर्वं) ṣaṭ (षट्) + karmāṇi (कर्माणि) samācaret (समाचरेत्) / anyas (अन्य) tu (तु) nācaret (नाचरेत्) tāni (तानि) doṣāṇāṃ (दोषाणां) samabhāvataḥ (समभावतः)
