Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā / 2.37 Some teachers stop at the breath

2.37

Haṭha (हठ) Yoga Pradīpikā (प्रदीपिका)

prāṇāyāmair eva sarve praśuṣyanti malā iti |
ācāryāṇāṃ tu keṣāṃcid anyat karma na saṃmatam

The line

By the prāṇāyāmas (प्राणायाम) alone, all the impurities dry up. Some teachers do not accept any act besides that.

Where it sits

The disagreement stays. 2.21 told the six acts when fat and phlegm are in excess. This verse records teachers for whom the breath is the whole cleansing.
