Lesson 15: Eat, Drink, and Write

Index · Lesson 14: Adjectives · Lesson 16: To Hear

पठति, “he studies,” has been the model. खाद्, “to eat,” पा, “to drink,” and लिख्, “to write,” take those same endings. The present stem of “to drink” is पिब, the way “to go” uses गच्छ.

फलम् means “fruit.” पत्रम् means “a letter.” जलम्, “water,” is already in Lesson 1. All three are neuter, so they take the endings of पुस्तकम्.
