परमात्मा	आत्मा	परमात्मा	the highest self. परम, “highest,” sits in front. Like आत्मा.
ब्रह्म	कर्म	ब्रह्म	the absolute. Not ब्रह्मा, the god on the gods page. Subject ब्रह्म, with-form ब्रह्मणा, in-form ब्रह्मणि.
पुरुषः	छात्रः	पुरुष	the person, spirit.
प्रकृतिः	बुद्धिः	प्रकृति	nature, the material principle. In-form प्रकृतौ.
जीवः	छात्रः	जीव	the living one.
देहः	छात्रः	देह, शरीर	a body. In-form देहे.
शरीरम्	पुस्तकम्	शरीर	a body.
इन्द्रियम्	पुस्तकम्	इन्द्रिय	a sense. Plural subject इन्द्रियाणि, like पुस्तकानि.
विषयः	छात्रः	विषय	an object of the senses.
प्राणः	छात्रः	प्राण	breath, life-breath.
मनः	मनः	मन	the mind. Lesson 68. With-form मनसा, in-form मनसि.
चित्तम्	पुस्तकम्	चित्त	the mind, the thinking mass.
चेतः	मनः	चेत	mind. Like मनः. In-form चेतसि.
बुद्धिः	बुद्धिः	बुद्धि	understanding. Lesson 28. In-form बुद्धौ.
अहंकारः	छात्रः	अहंकार	the I-maker, ego.
हृदयम्	पुस्तकम्	हृदय	the heart.
गुणः	छात्रः	गुण	a quality, and one of the three strands.
सत्त्वम्	पुस्तकम्	सत्त्व	the bright strand. Also “being,” a thing that is.
रजः	मनः	रज	the restless strand. Like मनः.
तमः	मनः	तम	the dark strand. Like मनः.
महत्	subject only	महत्	the great, the first product of nature in सांख्य. Subject महत्. Other endings wait. महा inside a compound is lesson 77, a different shape.
अव्यक्तम्	पुस्तकम्	अव्यक्त	the unmanifest.
व्यक्तम्	पुस्तकम्	व्यक्त	the manifest.
