Resources

Free tools we actually use. Pedagogy here is drafted from Berklee, Hal Leonard, and classical method books — always two-source checked. JustinGuitar-style topic lists are a checklist only (never copied).

Audio in this room

  • Ukulele notes: recorded nylon-string cuts from tonejs-instruments (CC BY 3.0) — there is no dedicated ukulele bank under that licence, so this room uses the closest nylon voice and pitch-shifts it; a synth covers anything missing. Full credit: samples/ukulele/CREDITS.md.
  • Sa / drone / metronome: shared practice bar (same as Singing and Piano).

Theory (shared with piano)

Ukulele methods (check, don’t copy)

  • Hal Leonard Ukulele Method Book 1 — open chords, downstrokes, capo
  • Berklee ukulele lab practice — right hand locked to a click
  • Classical: Carcassi, Sor, Giuliani 120 — IMSLP public-domain methods. The pima method on this site: Classical drills. Daily gym that pairs lab work with those studies: Exercises.

Voice / Sa

Singing practice — same Sa drone as the bar on every ukulele page.

Teaching with this room

Each practice page has a Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced card. Assign one track, hear it back, then move. Advanced here means tightness, sevenths, movable barre, reading at tempo, and the pima method on Classical drills — not jazz or Movable shapes.

  • Beginner — 4-week plan on Foundations.
  • Intermediate — Month 2, sevenths, 12-bar, folk bass-strum; Exercises 10-minute routine.
  • Advanced — Month 3, barre I–IV–V, 2-beat changes, start/stop silence.

Theory, picking, and the gym

Scale and mode labs live on Scales and Modes; compact technique labs stay on Exercises.
