Where it sits
The five afflictions are now defined. Ignorance was the field, I-sense the confusion of two powers, desire and aversion the trails of pleasure and pain, and this last one a current of its own. 2.10 and 2.11 divide them by how they are let go: the subtle ones, and their activities.
Split: svarasa (स्वरस) + vāhī (वाही) + viduṣaḥ (विदुषः) + api (अपि) + tathā (तथा) + rūḍhaḥ (रूढः) + abhiniveśaḥ (अभिनिवेशः)

The phrases
svarasa-vāhī (स्वरसवाही) says the clinging flows by its own force. It is not learned from a sermon about death. viduṣaḥ api (विदुषः अपि) is “even of the wise,” recited viduṣo 'pi (विदुषोऽपि).
tathā rūḍhaḥ (तथा रूढः) says it is rooted thus, even there. rūḍhaḥ abhiniveśaḥ (रूढः अभिनिवेशः) is recited rūḍho 'bhiniveśaḥ (रूढोऽभिनिवेशः). Knowing does not uproot it. The line is careful not to flatter the learned.
Sanskrit in this line
Two avagrahas, both aḥ (अः) + a (अ). viduṣaḥ api (विदुषः अपि) and rūḍhaḥ abhiniveśaḥ (रूढः अभिनिवेशः). The genitive viduṣaḥ (विदुषः) is “of the wise,” a genitive of the person, like vitṛṣṇasya (वितृष्णस्य) in 1.15. The stem vidvas (विद्व) “one who knows” makes its genitive viduṣaḥ (विदुषः), not vidvasya (विद्वस्य). That form is worth meeting once and remembering.
Say it back
Say who is not exempt: viduṣo 'pi (विदुषोऽपि). Then the name of what is rooted there.
