The phrases

Withdrawal is the senses, as it were, imitating the mind's own form. The condition is locative: when there is no joining with their own objects. viṣaya (विषय) + asaṃprayoga (असंप्रयोग) is a (अ) + a (अ) = ā (आ). svarūpa (स्वरूप) + anukāra (अनुकार) is the same.

anukāraḥ iva (अनुकारः इव) is recited anukāra iva (अनुकार इव), and iva indriyāṇām (इव इन्द्रियाणाम्) is ivendriyāṇām (इवेन्द्रियाणाम्), a (अ) + i (इ) = e (ए). The iva (इव) matters. It is as it were an imitating. The senses are not said to become the mind.

Sanskrit in this line

a (अ) + i (इ) = e (ए) at iva (इव) + indriya (इन्द्रिय). Genitive plural indriyāṇām (इन्द्रियाणाम्) is “of the senses,” the -ānām (आनाम्) of 1.19. Locative asaṃprayoge (असंप्रयोगे) is the condition. Read pratyāhāra (प्रत्याहार) from its pieces if it helps: prati (प्रति) “back,” āhāra (आहार) “taking.” The withdrawal is a taking back.

Say it back

Say what the senses imitate, and the iva (इव) that keeps the claim modest.
