Lesson 84: Than the Teacher
Index · Lesson 83: For the Teacher · Lesson 85: When the Sun Has Set
The from-form already means “from.” With a comparing word it means “than.” गुरोः लघुः means “smaller than the teacher.” गुरोः is the from-form from Lesson 25: The Teacher's Endings.
दीर्घः means “long,” or “tall,” and it matches like नवीनः. A woman is दीर्घा.
A man speaking of himself says अहं लघुः अस्मि. A woman says अहं लघ्वी अस्मि. लघ्वी is the woman’s form from the qualities page.
