Where it sits

1.19 was the route of becoming. This is the route of practice, for everyone else. The five predecessors are the ladder up to the samādhi (समाधि) 1.17 and 1.18 described.

Split: śraddhā (श्रद्धा) + vīrya (वीर्य) + smṛti (स्मृति) + samādhi (समाधि) + prajñā (प्रज्ञा) + pūrvakaḥ (पूर्वकः) + itareṣām (इतरेषाम्)

śraddhā (श्रद्धा)stemtrust. Not a mood. The willingness to stay with what has been undertaken.
vīrya (वीर्य)stemenergy. The strength that keeps the practice from thinning out.

samādhi (समाधि)stemsamādhi (समाधि). Already met as the cognitive one and the other.
prajñā (प्रज्ञा)steminsight. Knowing that has become sharp.
pūrvakaḥ (पूर्वकः)nominative singular, masculinepreceded by these. The same kind of compound as pūrvaḥ (पूर्वः) in 1.18.
itareṣām (इतरेषाम्)genitive plural of itara (इतर)of the others. Everyone who is not in the two groups of 1.19.

The phrases

The compound ending in pūrvakaḥ (पूर्वकः) describes the samādhi (समाधि) that is still in force from 1.18. For the others, it is preceded by trust, energy, memory, samādhi (समाधि), and insight. Read it from the end, as always.

itareṣām (इतरेषाम्) is genitive plural, “of the others.” pūrvakaḥ (पूर्वकः) standing before the vowel i (इ) loses its ḥ (ः) and is recited pūrvaka (पूर्वक). No avagraha is written. Avagraha marks a dropped a (अ) only.

Sanskrit in this line

Keep the sandhi of ḥ (ः) before a vowel that is not a (अ): the ḥ (ः) drops, and the vowels do not merge. pūrvakaḥ itareṣām (पूर्वकः इतरेषाम्) is said pūrvaka itareṣām (पूर्वक इतरेषाम्). Contrast 1.18, where aḥ (अः) + a (अ) became o (ओ) and left an avagraha.

Say it back

Recite the five predecessors in order, then itareṣām (इतरेषाम्). The genitive tells you who they belong to.
