त्यही हिसाबले विचारसहित र विचाररहित बताइन्छन्, र तिनीहरूको विषय सूक्ष्म हुन्छ।
Where it sits
1.42 and 1.43 did the coarse pair. This line refuses to repeat the argument for the fine pair. If you understood “with” and “without” once, you understand it here. 1.45 will say how far “subtle” goes.
Split: etayā (एतया) + eva (एव) + savicārā (सविचारा) + nirvicārā (निर्विचारा) + ca (च) + sūkṣma (सूक्ष्म) + viṣayā (विषया) + vyākhyātā (व्याख्याता)
Sanskrit, in depth
The words
| Word | Grammar | Sense |

| etayā (एतया) | instrumental singular, feminine | by this. By the account just given. |
| eva (एव) | indeclinable | the very, itself. |
| savicārā (सविचारा) | nominative singular, feminine | with reflection. sa- (स) plus vicāra (विचार) from 1.17. |
| nirvicārā (निर्विचारा) | nominative singular, feminine | without reflection. |
| ca (च) | indeclinable | and. |
| sūkṣma (सूक्ष्म) | stem | subtle. |
| viṣayā (विषया) | nominative singular, feminine | having a subtle object. |
| vyākhyātā (व्याख्याता) | nominative singular, feminine | explained. Already accounted for. |
The phrases
etayā eva (एतया एव) is “by this very account,” and it is recited etayaiva (एतयैव) because ā (आ) + e (ए) = ai (ऐ). The account is 1.42 and 1.43: mixed with a construction, or shining as the object alone.
savicārā (सविचारा) and nirvicārā (निर्विचारा) are the same pair one level finer. vitarka (वितर्क) was coarse reasoning. vicāra (विचार) is subtle reflection. sūkṣma-viṣayā (सूक्ष्मविषया) says the object of this pair is subtle. vyākhyātā (व्याख्याता) means the book is not going to write the pair out again.
Sanskrit in this line
The new sandhi is ā (आ) + e (ए) = ai (ऐ). etayā eva (एतया एव) is etayaiva (एतयैव). The instrumental feminine -ayā (अया) means “by,” the same job as -ena (एन) in 1.26 and -ābhyām (आभ्याम्) in 1.12, now on a feminine pronoun. etayā (एतया) points at the explanation, not at an object.
Say it back
Say etayaiva (एतयैव) and hear the ai (ऐ). Then the two names: savicārā (सविचारा), nirvicārā (निर्विचारा).
Next
1.45. And the subtle object reaches its end in the unmarked.
