क्षण र त्यसको क्रममा संयमबाट विवेकजन्य ज्ञान हुन्छ।

Where it sits

The knowledge 3.54 will describe as liberating, object-wide, and without sequence. 3.53 says what it can do: tell two similars apart when class, mark, and place cannot.

Split: kṣaṇa (क्षण) + tat (तत्) + kramayoḥ (क्रमयोः) + saṃyamāt (संयमात्) + viveka (विवेक) + jam (जम्) + jñānam (ज्ञानम्)

The phrases

From saṃyama (संयम) on the moment and its sequence, knowledge born of discernment. saṃyamāt (संयमात्) before v (व्) is saṃyamād (संयमाद्). vivekajam (विवेकजम्) agrees with jñānam (ज्ञानम्). -ja (ज) is “born of,” from 1.50.

3.15 said a different sequence is a different change. This line puts saṃyama (संयम) on the moment and the sequence themselves. The knowledge that results is the discerning kind, not another catalogue item.

Sanskrit in this line

Dual -yoḥ (योः) for moment and sequence. -ja (ज) “born of.” Ablative of saṃyama (संयम). The line is those three. vivekaja (विवेकज) is an adjective of jñānam (ज्ञानम्), not a second noun.

Say it back

Say what the saṃyama (संयम) is on, and what kind of knowledge is born.
