हानमेषां क्लेशवदुक्तम्

hānam eṣāṃ kleśavad uktam

The line

Their removal has been stated, as for the afflictions.

नेपालीमा

तिनीहरू हटाउने कुरा क्लेशहरूका लागि जस्तै भनिसकिएको छ।

Where it sits

A pointer, not a new doctrine. 4.29 names the samādhi (समाधि) of one who has no stake even in insight. That is the cloud of dharma. The remaining lines say what follows it.

Split: hānam (हानम्) + eṣām (एषाम्) + kleśavat (क्लेशवत्) + uktam (उक्तम्)

Sanskrit, in depth

The words

WordGrammarSense
hānam (हानम्)nominative singular, neuterthe removal. The letting go.
eṣām (एषाम्)genitive pluralof these. Of the ideas in the gaps.
kleśavat (क्लेशवत्)indeclinableas for the afflictions. -vat (वत्) “like.”
uktam (उक्तम्)nominative singular, neuterhas been stated. Already said.

The phrases

Their removal has been stated, as for the afflictions. kleśavat (क्लेशवत्) points back to 2.10 and 2.11: the subtle ones by resolving back, the activities by meditation. uktam (उक्तम्) agrees with hānam (हानम्). The book refuses a new technique at the end.

You already have the method. The gaps are affliction-shaped. They are let go the way afflictions are let go.

Sanskrit in this line

-vat (वत्) “like,” from kṣetrikavat (क्षेत्रिकवत्) in 4.3. uktam (उक्तम्) is “said,” a past participle used as “it has been stated.” Genitive eṣām (एषाम्) is “of these ideas.” The line sends you backward in the book on purpose.

Say it back

Say where you were sent. The afflictions, and their two ways of being let go.
