विपरितालङ्कारैर्विकृताचराभिधानवेषैश्च ।

viparitālaṅkārairvikṛtācarābhidhānaveṣaiśca |
vikṛtairarthaviśeṣairhasatīti rasaḥ smṛto hāsyaḥ

The line

By contrary ornaments, by distorted conduct, naming, and dress, and by distorted particular objects, one laughs: the rasa (रस) is remembered as the comic.

नेपालीमा

उल्टा गहना, विकृत आचरण, नाम र वस्त्र, तथा विकृत विशेष वस्तुले मानिस हाँस्छ। त्यो रस हास्य मानिन्छ।

Where it sits

The prose says laughter arises from a distorted dress of someone else, from impudence, greed, deceit, incoherent talk, seeing a deformity, and from a faulty example. It is of oneself, when one laughs, and of another, when one makes another laugh. 6.52 gives six degrees.
