sādhyanirdeśaḥ pratijñā
The line

नेपालीमा
प्रतिज्ञा साध्य बताउने वचन हो।
Where it sits
pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा) from 1.1.32 is the member being defined. sādhya (साध्य) will stay in force through the other members.
Split: sādhya-nirdeśaḥ (साध्य-निर्देशः) + pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा)
Sanskrit, in depth
The words
| Word | Grammar | Sense |
|---|---|---|
| sādhya-nirdeśaḥ (साध्य-निर्देशः) | nominative singular, masculine | the stating of what is to be established |
| pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा) | nominative singular, feminine | the thesis |
The phrases
sādhya (साध्य) is the thing still to be established, the subject together with the property claimed of it. nirdeśa (निर्देश) is the pointing-out, the saying of it.
A thesis in this art is that statement and not the argument yet. The reason has not entered. One says, for example, that sound is non-eternal, and stops there. That saying is pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा).
Sanskrit in this line
nirdeśaḥ (निर्देशः) is masculine and pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा) is feminine. The definition pairs them as the other definitional lines do.
Say it back
Gloss pratijñā (प्रतिज्ञा) as sādhyanirdeśa (साध्यनिर्देश).
