Nāṭyaśāstra (नाट्यशास्त्र), rasa

आलस्यौग्र्यजुगुप्साख्यैरेवं भावैस्तु वर्जिताः ।
उद्भावयन्ति शृङ्गारं सर्वे भावाः स्वसंज्ञया
ālasyaugryajugupsākhyairevaṃ bhāvaistu varjitāḥ |
udbhāvayanti śṛṅgāraṃ sarve bhāvāḥ svasaṃjñayā

The line

Left aside by the states called sloth, fierceness, and disgust, all the states, each under its own name, bring the erotic into view.

नेपालीमा

आलस्य, उग्रता र जुगुप्सा भनिने अवस्थालाई छोडेर सबै अवस्था, प्रत्येक आफ्नै नाममा, शृङ्गारलाई देखाउँछन्।

Where it sits

The verse's own exception: ālasya (आलस्य), ugratā (उग्रता), and jugupsā (जुगुप्सा) do not feed śṛṅgāra (शृङ्गार). The other states can. The prose of chapter 6 had already set those aside from the erotic in union.

Split: ālasyaugryajugupsākhyairevaṃ (आलस्यौग्र्यजुगुप्साख्यैरेवं) bhāvaistu (भावैस्तु) varjitāḥ (वर्जिताः) / udbhāvayanti (उद्भावयन्ति) śṛṅgāraṃ (शृङ्गारं) sarve (सर्वे) bhāvāḥ (भावाः) svasaṃjñayā (स्वसंज्ञया)
