Nāṭyaśāstra (नाट्यशास्त्र), rasa

विभावानुभावयुतो ह्यङ्गवस्तुसमाश्रयः ।
संचारिभिस्तु संयुक्तः स्थाय्येव तु रसो भवेत्
vibhāvānubhāvayuto hyaṅgavastusamāśrayaḥ |
saṃcāribhistu saṃyuktaḥ sthāyyeva tu raso bhavet

The line

Joined with determinant and consequent, resting on the limbs and the matter, and joined with the passing states, the stable one becomes the rasa (रस).

नेपालीमा

विभाव र अनुभावसँग जोडिएको, अङ्ग र वस्तुमा रहेको, र व्यभिचारी अवस्थासँग जोडिएको स्थायी रस बन्छ।

Where it sits

The bracketed verse says again what the sūtra (सूत्र) says. The sūtra (सूत्र) has niṣpatti (निष्पत्ति), coming to completion. This verse has raso bhavet (रसो भवेत्), it becomes the rasa (रस). Abhinavagupta's commentary argues the precise force of the sūtra (सूत्र). That argument is not this verse.

Split: vibhāvānubhāvayuto (विभावानुभावयुतो) hyaṅgavastusamāśrayaḥ (ह्यङ्गवस्तुसमाश्रयः) / saṃcāribhistu (संचारिभिस्तु) saṃyuktaḥ (संयुक्तः) sthāyyeva (स्थाय्येव) tu (तु) raso (रसो) bhavet (भवेत्)
