Nāṭyaśāstra (नाट्यशास्त्र), rasa
इष्टार्थविषयप्राप्त्या रतिरित्युपजायते ।
सौम्यत्वादभिनेया सा वाङ्माधुर्याङ्गचेष्टितैः iṣṭārthaviṣayaprāptyā ratirityupajāyate |

The line
By obtaining an object that is wanted, love arises. Because it is gentle, it is to be acted by sweetness of speech and by movements of the body.
नेपालीमा
चाहेको वस्तु पाएपछि प्रेम उत्पन्न हुन्छ। कोमल भएकाले यसलाई वचनको मिठास र शरीरको चालबाट अभिनय गर्नुपर्छ।
Where it sits
The first stable state, rati (रति), of śṛṅgāra (शृङ्गार). The prose adds season, garland, unguent, ornament, food, a fine house, and the experience of what is not contrary. The acting is a smiling face, sweet talk, the brow, and the sidelong glance.
