Nāṭyaśāstra (नाट्यशास्त्र), rasa
इत्येव मरणं ज्ञेयं नानावस्थान्तरात्मकम् ।
प्रयोक्तव्यं बुधैः सम्यग्यथा भवाङ्गचेष्टितैः ityeva maraṇaṃ jñeyaṃ nānāvasthāntarātmakam |
prayoktavyaṃ budhaiḥ samyagyathā bhavāṅgaceṣṭitaiḥ

Thus death is to be known, made of many intervening states. The wise should perform it rightly, according to the movements of the states.
