Veṇu Gītā (वेणुगीता)

Bhāgavata 10.21, the song of the flute. Kṛṣṇa sounds the veṇu (वेणु) while the cows are driven, and the gopīs describe what the world does when it hears him. Rivers, trees, peacocks, cows, and birds leave their ordinary motion. The chapter has twenty verses. Six of them, the sounding and the stopping, are already sat from the Sanskrit Documents text on the flute, in the Gāndharva shelf. This page is the door from the purāṇa side. The lines are not sat again here.

The philosophy in the song is bhakti's picture of attention. Everything leans toward what it loves, and a sound is enough to make the leaning visible. Verse 9, on the music page, says the flute drinks the nectar of Dāmodara's lip. That sentence is a description. The basuri room, outside this library, is where a flute is played. No śloka is supplied from memory to look like the text.

Two songs, one skandha

Where it sits

Gāndharva tells how celestial music came down into earthly deśī. This chapter is one of the texts that descent is heard in. The Gāndharva shelf is the lore. The practice rooms of Sangeet Yatra are the playing. The purāṇa pillar keeps the chapter's name so a reader of the Bhāgavata can find the verses without losing the skandha.
