4

Where do 10.1–10.11 sit in the talk between Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण)?

Answer

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is speaking, before Arjuna answers. He is the source of the gods and the great sages, and they do not know his origin. The one who knows him as unborn and beginningless is undeluded. To those whose minds are on him, he gives the buddhi (बुद्धि) by which they come to him, and out of compassion he destroys the darkness born of ignorance.

5

Say 10.10 back. Which word fails the sitting if it comes out wrong?

Answer

ददामि बुद्धियोगं तं येन माम् उपयान्ति ते dadāmi buddhiyogaṃ taṃ yena mām upayānti te. If yena (येन) comes out as "whom," stay here. The gift is the understanding by which they come.
