6.30

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking. mām (माम्) and aham (अहम्) are himself.

The verse

Who sees me everywhere and sees all in me, for him I am not lost, and he is not lost for me.

नेपालीमा

जसले मलाई सबैतिर देख्छ र सबै ममा देख्छ, उसका निम्ति म हराउँदिनँ, र मेरा निम्ति ऊ हराउँदैन।

Where it sits

6.29 was the self and all beings. This verse is that seeing turned toward Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण), and it adds a bond that does not break. The chapter will come back to "not lost" when Arjuna fears the man who falls.

The phrases

यः माम् पश्यति सर्वत्र yaḥ māṃ paśyati sarvatra and सर्वम् च मयि पश्यति sarvaṃ ca mayi paśyati are the same mirror as 6.29, with the speaker in the place of the self. He sees me everywhere. He sees all in me.

tasya aham na praṇaśyāmi (तस्य अहम् न प्रणश्यामि) and saḥ ca me na praṇaśyati (सः च मे न प्रणश्यति) are the consequence. I am not lost to him. He is not lost to me.

yaḥ mām (यः माम्) is yo mām (यो माम्). tasya aham (तस्य अहम्) is tasyāham (तस्याहम्). saḥ (सः) before ca (च) is sa (स).

Sanskrit in this line

praṇaśyati (प्रणश्यति) is pra (प्र) plus naś (नश्), "perish, be lost." With na (न) it is the bond kept. The pair is careful about person. praṇaśyāmi (प्रणश्यामि) is "I," first person, with tasya (तस्य), "for him." praṇaśyati (प्रणश्यति) is "he," with me (मे), "for me." Each is not lost to the other. yaḥ (यः) before m (म्) is yo (यो), the ordinary --aḥ (अः) before a voiced consonant.

Say it back

Who sees, and the two who are not lost. If only one of the two na (न) clauses is said, the bond is half of what he said.
