7.25

नाहं प्रकाशः सर्वस्य योगमायासमावृतः ।
मूढोऽयं नाभिजानाति लोको मामजमव्ययम् ॥

nāhaṃ prakāśaḥ sarvasya yogamāyāsamāvṛtaḥ
mūḍho 'yaṃ nābhijānāti loko mām ajam avyayam

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is speaking, to Arjuna (अर्जुन).

The verse

I am not manifest to everyone. I am wrapped in the yogamāyā (योगमाया). This deluded world does not recognize me, unborn and imperishable.

नेपालीमा

म सबैलाई प्रकट छैन, योगमायाले बेरिएको छु। यो मोहित संसारले अजन्मा र अविनाशी मलाई चिन्दैन।

Where it sits

7.13 said the world does not recognize him, deluded by the three states. 7.14 named that power māyā (माया). This verse says the wrapping is why he is not seen, and it corrects "born into a form" with "unborn." 7.26 will turn the same point around: he knows them, they do not know him.

Split: न + अहम् + प्रकाशः + सर्वस्य + योग-माया-समावृतः + मूढः + अयम् + न + अभिजानाति + लोकः + माम् + अजम् + अव्ययम्

na + aham + prakāśaḥ + sarvasya + yoga-māyā-samāvṛtaḥ + mūḍhaḥ + ayam + na + abhijānāti + lokaḥ + mām + ajam + avyayam

The phrases

na aham prakāśaḥ sarvasya (न अहम् प्रकाशः सर्वस्य) is why the mistake of 7.24 is available. He is not manifest to everyone. yoga-māyā-samāvṛtaḥ (योग-माया-समावृतः) names the wrapping. The māyā (माया) of 7.14, here with yoga (योग) in front of it: the making that belongs to his yoking, covering him.

mūḍhaḥ ayam na abhijānāti lokaḥ (मूढः अयम् न अभिजानाति लोकः) is the world, deluded, not recognizing him. माम् अजम् अव्ययम् mām ajam avyayam is what it misses: him, unborn, imperishable. Unborn answers the "he took birth" thought of 7.24.

Sanskrit in this line

न + अहम् na + aham is recited nāham (नाहम्). अ + अ a + a becomes ā (आ). The negative is the first syllable. Read as a name, the line says the opposite of what it says.

The same join happens again: न + अभिजानाति na + abhijānāti is nābhijānāti (नाभिजानाति). Two negatives, one sandhi. Both have to stay negative.

मूढः + अयम् mūḍhaḥ + ayam is mūḍho 'yam (मूढोऽयम्). अः + अ aḥ + a becomes o (ओ), and the a (अ) of ayam (अयम्) is the avagraha. ayam (अयम्) still agrees with lokaḥ (लोकः): "this world."

Say it back

Not manifest, then not recognized, then unborn. If the na (न) inside nāham (नाहम्) is missed, he has said he is visible to all. Stay here.
