Where it sits
Bracketed. 6.77 through 6.80 gave a threefold division for several rasa (रस) states. 6.81 gave the disgusting two, and 6.82 gave the wondrous two. This verse says the threefold is not stated for bībhatsa (बीभत्स), adbhuta (अद्भुत), and śānta (शान्त). It names śānta (शान्त) in the same breath as two of the eight. The brackets are the same brackets as 6.82*1.
