यस्त्विन्द्रियाणि मनसा नियम्यारभतेऽर्जुन ।
कर्मेन्द्रियैः कर्मयोगमसक्तः स विशिष्यते ॥

yas tv indriyāṇi manasā niyamyārabhate 'rjuna
karmendriyaiḥ karmayogam asaktaḥ sa viśiṣyate

śrībhagavān (श्रीभगवान्) is speaking, and tu (तु) turns the verse from the pretender to the other man.

The verse

But he who controls the senses with the mind and undertakes the yoga of action with the organs of action, unattached, excels, Arjuna (अर्जुन).

Where it sits

3.6 was the man who sits and remembers, and this is the man the chapter will keep, senses held by the mind and the organs of action at work. The next verse tells Arjuna (अर्जुन) to be this man.

The phrases

यस् त्व् इन्द्रियाणि मनसा नियम्य आरभते yas tv indriyāṇi manasā niyamya ārabhate is the man. But who, having controlled the senses with the mind, begins the work. यः + तु yaḥ + tu is yas tu (यस्तु), visarga before t (त्) becoming s (स्). तु + इन्द्रियाणि tu + indriyāṇi is tv indriyāṇi (त्विन्द्रियाणि), उ + इ u + i becoming v (व्).

ārabhate 'rjuna (आरभते ऽर्जुन) names the hearer in the middle of the line. ए + अ e + a keeps the e (ए) and drops the a (अ).

कर्मेन्द्रियैः कर्मयोगम् असक्तः स विशिष्यते karmendriyaiḥ karmayogam asaktaḥ sa viśiṣyate is what he begins, and the judgment. With the organs of action he takes up the yoga of action, unattached, and that man excels. The organs that 3.6 had only tied shut are the organs this man works with.

Sanskrit in this line

saḥ (सः) before a consonant is recited sa (स), not सो sa. sa viśiṣyate (स विशिष्यते). The nominative of tad (तद्) drops its visarga in front of a consonant. Do not "correct" the line to so viśiṣyate (सो विशिष्यते). That o (ओ) is the ordinary rule for other words in aḥ (अः). This pronoun does not follow it.

Say it back

Say what he controls, what he starts, and the word that says he is not clinging to it. If asaktaḥ (असक्तः) is missing, he has become the man of 3.6 with his hands busy.
