6.39
एतन्मे संशयं कृष्ण छेत्तुमर्हस्यशेषतः ।
त्वदन्यः संशयस्यास्य छेत्ता न ह्युपपद्यते ॥
etan me saṃśayaṃ kṛṣṇa chettum arhasy aśeṣataḥ
tvadanyaḥ saṃśayasyāsya chettā na hy upapadyate
Arjuna is still speaking. etat saṃśayam (एतत् संशयम्) is the doubt of 6.37–6.38.
The verse
You should cut this doubt of mine without remainder, Kṛṣṇa, for other than you no cutter of this doubt is to be found.
नेपालीमा
मेरो यो शङ्का बाँकी नराखी काटिदिनुहोस्, हे कृष्ण। तपाईंबाहेक यो शङ्का काट्ने अरू कोही पाइँदैन।
Where it sits
The fear has been stated. This verse hands it to Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) as a doubt to be cut, not as a position Arjuna will keep. The answer is 6.40, and it begins with neither here nor in the other world.

The phrases
एतत् मे संशयम् छेत्तुम् अर्हसि अशेषतः etat me saṃśayam chettum arhasi aśeṣataḥ is the request. You should cut this doubt of mine, and cut all of it.
tvadanyaḥ (त्वदन्यः) says there is no one else. saṃśayasya asya chettā na upapadyate (संशयस्य अस्य छेत्ता न उपपद्यते): a cutter of this doubt is not to be found.
etat me (एतत् मे) is etan me (एतन्मे), t (त्) before m (म्) becoming n (न्). arhasi aśeṣataḥ (अर्हसि अशेषतः) is arhasyaśeṣataḥ (अर्हस्यशेषतः). saṃśayasya asya (संशयस्य अस्य) is saṃśayasyāsya (संशयस्यास्य). hi upapadyate (हि उपपद्यते) is hyupapadyate (ह्युपपद्यते).
Sanskrit in this line
chettum (छेत्तुम्) is the infinitive, and arhasi (अर्हसि) takes it: "you ought to cut." chettā (छेत्ता) is the agent noun of the same root, "a cutter," built with the suffix --tṛ (तृ). The nominative of that suffix is --tā (ता). One root, two jobs: the infinitive is the act requested, the agent noun is the person who could do it. tvadanyaḥ (त्वदन्यः) says that person is not anyone other than the one addressed.
Say it back
What he asks to be cut, and who cannot cut it. If aśeṣataḥ (अशेषतः) drops out, a partial answer would do, and Arjuna asked for the whole doubt.
