8.7

तस्मात्सर्वेषु कालेषु मामनुस्मर युध्य च ।
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्मामेवैष्यस्यसंशयः ॥

tasmāt sarveṣu kāleṣu mām anusmara yudhya ca
mayyarpita-manobuddhir māmevaiṣyasy asaṃśayaḥ

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) continues. tasmāt (तस्मात्) means the order follows from the law in 8.6.

The verse

Therefore at all times remember me, and fight. With mind and understanding offered into me, you will come to me, free of doubt.

नेपालीमा

त्यसैले सबै बेला मलाई सम्झ, र लड। मन र बुद्धि ममा अर्पण गरेपछि तिमी मकहाँ आउनेछौ, शङ्कामुक्त भएर।

Where it sits

The death question is answered by a practice that does not wait for death. If the last remembrance carries him, then the remembrance has to be already there while he fights. The chariot has not been cancelled. yudhya (युध्य) is this battle.

The phrases

तस्मात् सर्वेषु कालेषु माम् अनुस्मर युध्य च tasmāt sarveṣu kāleṣu mām anusmara yudhya ca is the order. Not only at the end. At every time, remember me, and fight. The two imperatives are one command. ca (च) does not let the fight become a later topic.

mayi arpitamanasbuddhiḥ (मयि अर्पितमनस्बुद्धिः) is the condition of the man who will come. Mind and understanding offered into him. The bahuvrīhi (बहुव्रीहि) describes "you." Its nominative agrees with the person inside eṣyasi (एष्यसि).

माम् एव एष्यसि असंशयः mām eva eṣyasi asaṃśayaḥ is the future of 8.5, said to his face. You will come to me alone, and you are not in doubt. asaṃśayaḥ (असंशयः) is nominative. It describes the man, as smaran (स्मरन्) described the man in 8.5.

Sanskrit in this line

anusmara (अनुस्मर) and yudhya (युध्य) are second-person imperatives with no ending added. The stem is the command, as paśya (पश्य) was in 1.3. मयि + अर्पित mayi + arpita is recited mayyarpita (मय्यर्पित), and एष्यसि + असंशयः eṣyasi + asaṃśayaḥ is recited eṣyasy asaṃśayaḥ (एष्यस्यसंशयः), because इ + अ i + a becomes ya (य). The printed reading of the last word is nominative asaṃśayaḥ (असंशयः); the source notes a parenthetical ending saṃśayam (संशयम्), and with the negative a- (अ-) kept that other reading is the accusative asaṃśayam (असंशयम्).

Say it back

Remember, and fight, at all times. If yudhya (युध्य) drops out, or if sarveṣu kāleṣu (सर्वेषु कालेषु) shrinks back into antakāle (अन्तकाले) only, stay here.
