सर्वभूतानि कौन्तेय
प्रकृतिं यान्ति मामिकाम् ।
कल्पक्षये पुनस्तानि
कल्पादौ विसृजाम्यहम् ॥

sarvabhūtāni kaunteya prakṛtiṃ yānti māmikām
kalpakṣaye punas tāni kalpādau visṛjāmy aham

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking to Arjuna (अर्जुन). kaunteya (कौन्तेय) calls him the son of Kuntī (कुन्ती).

The verse

All beings go into my nature at the wasting of a world-age, son of Kuntī (कुन्ती); at the beginning of a world-age I send them forth again.

नेपालीमा

युग सकिँदा सबै भूतहरू मेरो प्रकृतिमा जान्छन्, हे कुन्तीपुत्र। युग सुरु हुँदा म तिनीहरूलाई फेरि निकाल्छु।

Where it sits

The wind was a picture of resting. This verse is the rhythm of that rest: withdrawal into his nature, and a fresh sending-forth. The next verse says how the sending works, and whose power the beings are under.

Sanskrit in this line

पुनः + तानि punaḥ + tāni is recited punas tāni (पुनस्तानि). Before the voiceless t (त्), the visarga becomes s (स्). kalpa-kṣaye (कल्प-क्षये) and kalpa-ādau (कल्प-आदौ) are both locative. One ending is --e (ए), the ordinary locative. ādi (आदि) takes --au (औ).

Say it back

Cover the English. Say the two times, and who acts at each. If kalpa-kṣaye (कल्प-क्षये) and kalpa-ādau (कल्प-आदौ) collapse into one moment, stay here.
