तत्कुरुष्व मदर्पणम् ॥

yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat
yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kuruṣva madarpaṇam

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking to Arjuna (अर्जुन).

The verse

Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in the fire, whatever you give, whatever austerity you undertake, son of Kuntī (कुन्ती), make that an offering to me.

नेपालीमा

तिमी जे गर्छौ, जे खान्छौ, जे आगोमा चढाउँछौ, जे दिन्छौ, जे तप गर्छौ, हे कुन्तीपुत्र, त्यो मलाई अर्पण गर।

Where it sits

9.26 was a leaf on the altar. This verse is the rest of a day. Doing, eating, the fire, a gift, and the heat of austerity are all to be made the same kind of offering. 9.28 says what that does to the bonds.

Split: यत् + करोषि + यत् + अश्नासि + यत् + जुहोषि + ददासि + यत् + यत् + तपस्यसि + कौन्तेय + तत् + कुरुष्व + मत्-अर्पणम्

The phrases

यत् करोषि यत् अश्नासि यत् जुहोषि ददासि यत् yat karoṣi yat aśnāsi yat juhoṣi dadāsi yat is four acts: what you do, what you eat, what you pour in the fire, what you give. The fourth yat (यत्) stands after its verb. The others stand before.

yat tapasyasi (यत् तपस्यसि) is the fifth: whatever austerity you take on. kaunteya (कौन्तेय) holds the list open toward him.

तत् कुरुष्व मत्-अर्पणम् tat kuruṣva mat-arpaṇam is the command on the whole list. Make that an offering to me. One imperative covers five "whatever"s.

Sanskrit in this line

yat (यत्) shows three faces of t (त्) in one verse. Before karoṣi (करोषि) the t (त्) stays: yat karoṣi (यत्करोषि). Before the vowel of aśnāsi (अश्नासि) it becomes d (द्): yad aśnāsi (यदश्नासि). Before juhoṣi (जुहोषि) it becomes j (ज्): yaj juhoṣi (यज्जुहोषि). You saw त् + ज् t + j already in yajjñātvā (यज्ज्ञात्वा) in 9.1.

Say it back

Cover the English. Say the five acts, then the command. If कुरुष्व मत्-अर्पणम् kuruṣva mat-arpaṇam drops, stay here.
