The verse

Thus you will be released from the bonds of action, fruits good and not good; your self yoked to the yoga of renunciation, released, you will come to me.

नेपालीमा

यसरी तिमी राम्रो र नराम्रो फल भएका कर्मका बन्धनबाट मुक्त हुनेछौ। संन्यासको योगमा आत्मा जोडिएको, मुक्त भएको तिमी मकहाँ आउनेछौ।

Where it sits

9.27 gave the command. This verse is the fruit of obeying it: release from good fruit and from bad, and a coming to him. The future mokṣyase (मोक्ष्यसे) answers the future he opened with in 9.1.

The phrases

शुभ-अशुभ-फलैः एवम् मोक्ष्यसे कर्म-बन्धनैः śubha-aśubha-phalaiḥ evaṃ mokṣyase karma-bandhanaiḥ is the release. Thus — by making the acts an offering — you will be released from the bonds of action, the fruits that are good and the fruits that are not. Both instrumentals name what the release leaves.

saṃnyāsa-yoga-yukta-ātmā (संन्यास-योग-युक्त-आत्मा) describes the "you" of the verb. The self is yoked to the yoga of setting-down. vimuktaḥ (विमुक्तः) says that you as already released.

माम् उपैष्यसि mām upaiṣyasi is the second future. You will come to him.

Sanskrit in this line

फलैः + एवम् phalaiḥ + evam is recited phalair evam (फलैरेवम्). aiḥ (ऐः) before a vowel becomes air (ऐर्). The ending --aiḥ (ऐः) is instrumental plural. With mokṣyase (मोक्ष्यसे) it marks what the release is from. In 9.1 the same verb took the ablative aśubhāt (अशुभात्). Here the case is instrumental, and the job is the leaving.

Say it back

Cover the English. Say both futures. If you say the release and leave out the coming, stay here.
