9.30

अपि चेत्सुदुराचारो
भजते मामनन्यभाक् ।
साधुरेव स मन्तव्यः
सम्यग्व्यवसितो हि सः ॥

api cet sudurācāro bhajate mām ananyabhāk
sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥ

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking to Arjuna (अर्जुन).

The verse

If even a person of very bad conduct worships me, devoted to no other, he is to be thought a good person indeed, for he has resolved rightly.

Where it sits

9.29 put the devotee in him. This verse will not let the conduct have the last word, provided the worship is undivided. 9.31 will say how fast the change is, and will make Arjuna (अर्जुन) promise the rest.

The phrases

अपि चेत् सु-दुर्-आचारः api cet su-dur-ācāraḥ opens with a hard case. Even if the conduct is very bad. भजते माम् अनन्य-भाक् bhajate mām ananya-bhāk is the condition inside the hard case. He worships him, and the worship has no other share.

sādhuḥ eva saḥ mantavyaḥ (साधुः एव सः मन्तव्यः) is the order to the hearer. He is to be thought a good person. samyak vyavasitaḥ hi saḥ (सम्यक् व्यवसितः हि सः) gives the reason. He has resolved rightly.

Sanskrit in this line

सम्यक् + व्यवसितः samyak + vyavasitaḥ is recited samyag vyavasitaḥ (सम्यग्व्यवसितः). k (क्) before the voiced v (व्) becomes g (ग्). ananya-bhāk (अनन्य-भाक्) is a nominative with no visarga, a consonant stem, like suhṛt (सुहृत्) in 9.18 and bhūta-bhṛt (भूत-भृत्) in 9.5.

Say it back

Cover the English. Say what one is to think of him. If mantavyaḥ (मन्तव्यः) is replaced by the bad conduct as the last word, stay here.
