अर्जुन उवाच
स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या
जगत्प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते च ।
रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशो द्रवन्ति
सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्धसङ्घाः ॥

jagat prahṛṣyaty anurajyate ca
rakṣāṃsi bhītāni diśo dravanti
sarve namasyanti ca siddhasaṅghāḥ

Arjuna (अर्जुन) is speaking, to Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण). The stammer Sañjaya (सञ्जय) reported is this speech. Meter: triṣṭubh (त्रिष्टुभ्). Four quarters, eleven syllables each, forty-four in the verse.

The verse

Arjuna (अर्जुन) said: Rightly, lord of the senses, the world rejoices and is drawn to you by your glory; the frightened rākṣasas (राक्षस) run to the directions, and all the hosts of the perfected bow.

अर्जुनले भने, उचित नै हो, हे इन्द्रियका स्वामी, तपाईंको महिमाले संसार रमाउँछ र तपाईंतिर तानिन्छ। डराएका राक्षस दिशातिर दौडन्छन्, र सिद्धका सबै समूह निहुरिन्छन्।

Where it sits

The phrases

sthāne hṛṣīkeśa tava prakīrtyā jagat prahṛṣyati anurajyate ca (स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या जगत् प्रहृष्यति अनुरज्यते च) says the rejoicing is in the right place. Rightly, by the proclaiming of you, the world rejoices and is drawn toward you.

rakṣāṃsi bhītāni diśaḥ dravanti (रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशः द्रवन्ति) is the other motion. The frightened rākṣasas (राक्षस) run to the directions. He had said he himself did not know the directions. They run into them.

sarve namasyanti ca siddha-saṅghāḥ (सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्ध-सङ्घाः) is the bow of the perfected. All the hosts of siddhas (सिद्ध) bow.

Sanskrit in this line

sthāne (स्थाने) is a locative used as "rightly, in its proper place." It does not name a spot on the field. प्रहृष्यति + अनुरज्यते prahṛṣyati + anurajyate is prahṛṣyaty anurajyate (प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते): i (इ) before a (अ) becomes y (य्). Two verbs, one subject, jagat (जगत्).
