māṃ ca yo 'vyabhicāreṇa bhaktiyogena sevate

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) is still speaking, to Arjuna (अर्जुन).

The verse

And who serves me with an unswerving yoga of devotion, he, having fully crossed these strands, is fit for becoming Brahman (ब्रह्म).

नेपालीमा

र जो अटल भक्तियोगले मेरो सेवा गर्छ, ऊ यी गुण पूरै नाघेर ब्रह्म हुन योग्य हुन्छ।

Where it sits

The marks are done, and this is the how: service of him, with a devotion that does not stray, is the crossing.

Split: माम् + च + यः + अव्यभिचारेण + भक्ति-योगेन + सेवते + सः + गुणान् + समतीत्य + एतान् + ब्रह्म-भूयाय + कल्पते

The phrases

māṃ ca yaḥ avyabhicāreṇa bhakti-yogena sevate (मां च यः अव्यभिचारेण भक्ति-योगेन सेवते) is the how that 14.21 asked for. And who serves me with an unswerving yoga of devotion. Two instrumentals. avyabhicāreṇa (अव्यभिचारेण) is the manner, no straying. bhakti-yogena (भक्ति-योगेन) is the service itself. ca (च) sets this man next to the one who was just called guṇa-atītaḥ (गुण-अतीतः).

saḥ guṇān samatītya etān brahma-bhūyāya kalpate (सः गुणान् समतीत्य एतान् ब्रह्म-भूयाय कल्पते) is what that service does. He, having fully crossed these strands, is fit for becoming Brahman (ब्रह्म). samatītya (समतीत्य) is the same crossing as atītya (अतीत्य) in 14.20, with sam (सम्) pressing it.

Sanskrit in this line

brahma-bhūyāya (ब्रह्म-भूयाय) is dative singular. It answers "fit for what." kalpate (कल्पते), "he is fit," takes the dative of the thing he is fit for. The ending --āya (आय) is the "for." Becoming Brahman (ब्रह्म) is not the object of sevate (सेवते). The object of the serving is mām (माम्). The dative is what the crossing makes him fit for.

Say it back

Cover the English. Say whom he serves, and what he is fit for. If avyabhicāreṇa (अव्यभिचारेण) drops, the devotion has been allowed to stray. Stay here.
