Where it sits
Anityasaṃyoga (अनित्यसंयोग) is the charge of 1.2.39. Uktaḥ (उक्तः) points back to 1.1.31, as uktam did in 1.1.29 and 1.2.22. The meaningful mantra is still the subject.
Split: uktaḥ (उक्तः) + ca (च) + anitya-saṃyogaḥ (अनित्य-संयोगः)
Sanskrit, in depth
The words
| Word | Grammar | Sense |
|---|---|---|
| uktaḥ (उक्तः) | nominative singular, masculine | it has been stated |
| ca (च) | indeclinable | and |
| anitya-saṃyogaḥ (अनित्य-संयोगः) | nominative singular, masculine | the non-eternal connection |
The phrases
The connection the objector called non-eternal, the verse that names Pramaganda and the Kīkaṭas (कीकट), has already been stated and handled.
The handling is the one given for Prāvāhaṇi (प्रावाहणि). What looks like a personal name is the general character of sacred wording, words with meanings. A mantra can contain such a name without the name dating the formula, and without the meaning being created by the man who is named.
Sanskrit in this line
Uktaḥ (उक्तः) agrees in gender with saṃyogaḥ (संयोगः). Ca adds this reminder to the answers just given.
Say it back
Recall the earlier point: a proper name inside a mantra does not date the mantra.
