The phrases
Men bring a word out with great effort. Breath rises, spreads in the chest, turns in the throat, strikes the head, and moves in the mouth. In that labor the speaker can miss.
A man who means to step on dry ground steps in the mud. A man who means to sip once sips twice. In the same way gāvī (गावी) and the rest can have started from a miss. They need not be beginningless correct words.
Sanskrit in this line
niṣpatteḥ (निष्पत्तेः) before a vowel is heard as niṣpatter (निष्पत्तेर्). bhāgitvam (भागित्वम्) is the abstract, nominative neuter, and it is the predicate. The subject is the word's being produced by effort, carried in the ablative.
Say it back
Say that pronunciation is effort, and that a slip can start a form like gāvī (गावी).
