Mīmāṃsā Sūtra / Adhyāya 10 / 10.4.59
न वा स्याद् गुणशास्त्रत्वात्
na vā syād guṇaśāstratvāt
The line
Not or, it would be. syāt (स्यात्) before a voiced sound, because of a compound: a quality, a teaching, a treatise, and the state of being that.
Where it sits
In Mīmāṃsā (मीमांसा) Sūtra (सूत्र), adhyāya (अध्याय) 10. Bādha (बाध): when a transferred detail is excluded. The line is short. vākhyā-vikāra-tvāta (वाख्या-विकार-त्वात) from 10.4.58 is still in force. A sūtra (सूत्र) leaves a word out when the line before still holds it. That carrying is anuvṛtti (अनुवृत्ति).
