5.12
युक्तः कर्मफलं त्यक्त्वा शान्तिमाप्नोति नैष्ठिकीम् ।
अयुक्तः कामकारेण फले सक्तो निबध्यते ॥
yuktaḥ karmaphalaṃ tyaktvā śāntim āpnoti naiṣṭhikīm
ayuktaḥ kāmakāreṇa phale sakto nibadhyate
Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) continues. He sets the yoked and the unyoked side by side, and the fruit is what divides them.
The verse
The yoked one, having left the fruit of action, reaches a lasting peace, and the unyoked one, clinging to the fruit under the working of desire, is bound.
नेपालीमा
युक्तले कर्मको फल छाडेर अटल शान्ति पाउँछ। अयुक्त मानिस चाहनाको प्रेरणाले फलमा टाँसिएर बाँधिन्छ।
Where it sits
This closes the answer that began at 5.2. Both paths were real. The yoga of action was the one for him. The man who keeps that yoga leaves the fruit and reaches peace. The man who stays on the fruit is bound. The next verse will seat the free one in the body and take the doing off him.

The phrases
yuktaḥ karmaphalam tyaktvā (युक्तः कर्मफलम् त्यक्त्वा) is the yoked man, and what he has left is the fruit. शान्तिम् आप्नोति नैष्ठिकीम् śāntim āpnoti naiṣṭhikīm is what he reaches: a peace that lasts, the peace of the firm stance. naiṣṭhikīm (नैष्ठिकीम्) takes the gender of śānti (शान्ति), which is feminine.
ayuktaḥ (अयुक्तः) is the other man. kāmakāreṇa (कामकारेण) is the force he is under. phale saktaḥ (फले सक्तः) is where he clings, on the fruit. nibadhyate (निबध्यते) is the result. He is bound.
शान्तिम् आप्नोति śāntim āpnoti is recited śāntim āpnoti (शान्तिमाप्नोति). saktaḥ nibadhyate (सक्तः निबध्यते) is recited sakto nibadhyate (सक्तो निबध्यते).
Sanskrit in this line
naiṣṭhikīm (नैष्ठिकीम्) is feminine accusative because śāntim (शान्तिम्) is feminine accusative. The adjective takes the gender, number, and case of the noun it describes. śānti (शान्ति) is an i (इ)-stem, and the feminine adjective beside it uses --īm (ईम्). A masculine ending on the adjective would be describing some other word.
Say it back
Give both men, and put the fruit on the right side of each. If the yuktaḥ (युक्तः) is the one who is bound, stay here.
