The verse

वेदहरूमध्ये म सामवेद हुँ, देवताहरूमध्ये म वासव हुँ। इन्द्रियहरूमध्ये म मन हुँ, र प्राणीहरूमध्ये म चेतना हुँ।

Where it sits

The list is not only gods and lights. A faculty and a kind of awareness are splendors in the same sentence as Vāsava. 10.20 already said he is the self in the heart of beings. cetanā (चेतना) here is the splendor he names among them.

Split: वेदानाम् + साम-वेदः + अस्मि + देवानाम् + अस्मि + वासवः + इन्द्रियाणाम् + मनः + च + अस्मि + भूतानाम् + अस्मि + चेतना

vedānām + sāma-vedaḥ + asmi + devānām + asmi + vāsavaḥ + indriyāṇām + manaḥ + ca + asmi + bhūtānām + asmi + cetanā

The phrases

वेदानां सामवेदः अस्मि देवानाम् अस्मि वासवः vedānāṃ sāmavedaḥ asmi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ is two pairs. Of the Vedas, the Sāma. Of the gods, Vāsava. asmi (अस्मि) is repeated, so the frame is unmistakable.

इन्द्रियाणां मनः च अस्मि भूतानाम् अस्मि चेतना indriyāṇāṃ manaḥ ca asmi bhūtānām asmi cetanā moves inside the person. Of the senses, the mind. Of beings, consciousness. cetanā (चेतना) is feminine, and asmi (अस्मि) does not mind. The predicate keeps its own gender. The mind was not a god. It is still one item in the same list.

Sanskrit in this line

manaḥ (मनः) + ca (च) + asmi (अस्मि) is recited manaś cāsmi (मनश्चास्मि). aḥ (अः) before the voiceless c (च्) becomes ś (श्), not o (ओ) and not s (स्). Then ca (च) + asmi (अस्मि) becomes cāsmi (चास्मि), because a (अ) + a (अ) becomes ā (आ).

sāma-vedaḥ (साम-वेदः) + asmi (अस्मि) is sāmavedo 'smi (सामवेदोऽस्मि). aḥ (अः) + a (अ) is o ' (ओऽ).

Say it back

Of the senses, the mind. Of beings, consciousness. If manaḥ (मनः) is listed as one more sense beside the others, with no genitive, stay here.
