अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः ।
गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलो मुनिः ॥

aśvatthaḥ sarvavṛkṣāṇāṃ devarṣīṇāṃ ca nāradaḥ
gandharvāṇāṃ citrarathaḥ siddhānāṃ kapilo muniḥ

Kṛṣṇa (कृष्ण) continues. asmi (अस्मि) is not in the verse. The frame carries it.

The verse

The aśvattha among all trees, and Nārada (नारद) among the divine sages; Citraratha among gandharvas; Kapila the sage among the accomplished.

नेपालीमा

म सबै वृक्षमध्ये अश्वत्थ हुँ, दिव्य ऋषिहरूमध्ये नारद हुँ, गन्धर्वहरूमध्ये चित्ररथ हुँ, र सिद्धहरूमध्ये मुनि कपिल हुँ।

Where it sits

The "I am" is understood, and the verse still works. A tree sits in the same list as a sage. That range is the teaching of these lines. Nārada (नारद) does not need a second story here.

Split: अश्वत्थः + सर्व-वृक्षाणाम् + देव-ऋषीणाम् + च + नारदः + गन्धर्वाणाम् + चित्ररथः + सिद्धानाम् + कपिलः + मुनिः

The phrases

aśvatthaḥ sarvavṛkṣāṇāṃ devarṣīṇāṃ ca nāradaḥ (अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः) is a tree and a sage. Among all trees, the aśvattha. Among the divine sages, Nārada (नारद). He was a speaker in 10.13. Here he is an item in the splendors. Same name, a different job in the talk.

gandharvāṇāṃ citrarathaḥ siddhānāṃ kapilaḥ muniḥ (गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलः मुनिः) is Citraratha among gandharvas, and Kapila the sage among the accomplished. kapilaḥ (कपिलः) and muniḥ (मुनिः) share one case. They are one person, not two items.

Sanskrit in this line

When asmi (अस्मि) is left out, the nominative still names what he is, and the genitive still names the group. kapilaḥ (कपिलः) + muniḥ (मुनिः) is recited kapilo muniḥ (कपिलो मुनिः). aḥ (अः) before voiced m (म्) becomes o (ओ). Two nominatives in agreement are one splendor, described twice.

Say it back

The tree and its genitive. aśvatthaḥ (अश्वत्थः), sarvavṛkṣāṇām (सर्ववृक्षाणाम्). If the verb has to be invented as something other than "I am," stay here. The list's verb is the one already in use.
